The Baby Box Project
Giving gifts of hope to new moms

Help us reach out to the most vulnerable little people in our country

Mandela Day

We are now collecting boxes and items for boxes for Mandela Day! We always include an extra warm outfit as these boxes will be handed out in Winter! We always use new clothes in our boxes as we feel this gives hope and dignity to the moms that we help.

2017 is off to an amazing start. By July, we have delivered close to 600 boxes and started delivering in 3 new locations: Edenvale Hospital and Yusuf Dadoo Hospital, and Steve Biko hospital (affiliate group).

Our regular hospitals are Rahima Moosa hospital, Leratong, Charlotte Maxeke (affiliate group) and Oliver Tambo Memorial hospital (affiliate group)

After our board meeting in January, we have set ourselves the goal of delivering 1000 boxes in 2016. We exceeded our own expectations and delivered close 1100 boxes in 2016.

After reading this article about the availability of water to new mothers, we have decided to include a bottle of water in our Baby Boxes. We feel that this is important as it supports moms who have little access to water both at home and in a crowded hospital. It also aids their breastfeeding journey.
